Soulframe Opens Free PC Access on November 6

Digital Extremes' fantasy RPG removes invitations on November 6. Verse of the Veilands will give players a clearer route through its corrupted regions.

Soulframe will open its free PC test to everyone on November 6, 2026, ending the invitation requirement. Digital Extremes, the studio behind Warframe, is also preparing an update that makes restoring corrupted regions part of the fantasy RPG’s progression.

That update, Verse of the Veilands, is scheduled for November. Digital Extremes has not confirmed that it will arrive on November 6, so players joining on opening day should not assume its wolf mounts and world changes will already be available.

Soulframe takes players into Midrath to fight the invading Ode and free corrupted Omen Beasts. You can explore alone or with a party of up to four, combining weapons with ability-granting Pacts. Story quests, called Fables, gradually introduce more of its systems.

Free access through the Windows launcher

To join Open Preludes, create an account at soulframe.com and download the Windows launcher from the website. Registration is already available; the invitation requirement ends on November 6. Founders bundles remain optional purchases, with no payment required to enter the open test.

The Steam page is still listed as “Coming soon.” This opening uses Soulframe’s own launcher, and console access is outside the announcement. The game also remains in early development, with no firm full-release date.

Restoring regions gives players a route through Alca

Veilands progression begins after The Tormented Stag Fable. Across Alca, Ode Siphons drain energy from the land, leaving regions corrupted. Players work with local enclaves, complete activities called Votives and learn regional songs to cleanse those siphons.

In its press-preview report, MMORPG.com describes consequences beyond the scenery: corrupted regions have fewer resources, displaced wildlife and activities that are unavailable until restoration. Healing the land brings back wildlife and fishing, while changing the resources and loot players can find.

Votives are also becoming easier to find. After meeting a region’s enclave representative, players will be able to accept activities from the world map. Expanded dialogue and voice acting will give those representatives a larger role in explaining the work ahead.

The rework addresses a problem the team discussed during the preview: players could finish the early Fables without realizing where to continue. Regional restoration connects the next objectives to changes they can see and activities they can revisit.

Wolf mounts come with progression requirements

A trained wolf pup is only the starting point for unlocking a mount. Players must also purify two Veilands regions, brew a Bairnday Biscuit and feed it to their companion. The pup then grows into an Omen Wolf that can carry them across Alca. Digital Extremes plans to develop the mount system further in later updates.

Verse of the Veilands also adds Ode Shrike, a Pact built around trapping and controlling enemies. Its kit includes spike traps and balloon darts that lift targets, plus bola chains that share damage between linked enemies and an evasive throwing bomb.

The returning Bita’s Eve event adds the headless horserider mini-boss Veltruska and a special fish, Sunken Terror, alongside seasonal rewards.

Four-player co-op, with more matchmaking planned

Soulframe supports parties of up to four, but finding a group for particular activities is still an area the developers are working on. MMORPG.com’s preview reports that public matchmaking for dungeons and Votives is planned, with the team unable to confirm whether it will arrive in Preludes 17 or a later update.

Progress retention needs careful wording, too. In response to a question about buying Founders access, the Founders FAQ says there will be no more account resets in Preludes. The general FAQ still says major development changes may require adjustments, with advance notice. The pages do not establish a clear policy for carrying progress into the full release.
