Phantom Blade Zero PC Preload Needs 300GB Free for a 145GB Game

The PC version unlocks on 29 October 2026 at 02:00 UTC. Its minimum and recommended performance targets both use upscaling.

Phantom Blade Zero’s PC preload needs at least 300GB free on an SSD, more than twice the space occupied by the finished game. S-GAME puts the installation at about 145GB, but its launch guide asks players to leave room for temporary files as well.

During unlocking, those files share the drive with the complete game. Once the process finishes, storage use falls to roughly 145GB. The extra space therefore needs to remain available through unlocking, even after the preload download has finished.

For a PC with 250GB free on its chosen SSD, that leaves another 50GB to clear before it meets S-GAME’s preload guidance.

The 60 FPS recommendation uses upscaling

S-GAME’s minimum and recommended configurations both assume upscaling, with ray tracing and path tracing switched off. Both require 16GB of RAM, 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, DirectX 12 and an SSD.

Component Minimum Recommended
CPU Intel Core i7-8700K
or AMD Ryzen 5 3600
Intel Core i5-10600K
or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
Graphics GeForce GTX 1660 6GB
or Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB
GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8GB
or Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB
Target with upscaling 1080p at 30 FPS 1440p at 60 FPS

The 1440p recommendation already includes upscaling. S-GAME has not named the graphics preset or upscaling quality mode used for that result, so an RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XT in the recommended column should not be read as a native-1440p benchmark.

Turning on ray tracing takes the comparison to a separate set of GPU recommendations. S-GAME lists an RTX 5060 8GB for 1080p at 60 FPS with ray tracing, and an RTX 5080 16GB for 2160p at 60 FPS with path tracing. Both targets use upscaling. The studio does not give a full CPU/RAM configuration or a frame-generation setting for either mode.

Our Phantom Blade Zero specs entry lists the minimum and recommended configurations with the same upscaling requirement.

S-GAME also recommends GeForce Game Ready Driver 621.01 for NVIDIA cards ahead of launch. For AMD users, its guide advises updating Adrenalin Edition and checking for a Phantom Blade Zero-specific driver release.

PC launch is 29 October at 02:00 UTC

The announced PC preload window began on 27 October 2026 at 02:00 UTC, or 26 October at 19:00 PDT. The game unlocks 48 hours later.

In the United States, that means 28 October at 19:00 PDT in Los Angeles and 22:00 EDT in New York. In Europe, it is 29 October at 02:00 GMT in London and 03:00 CET in Berlin. Tokyo’s launch is 29 October at 11:00 JST.

Those dates refer to the same launch. Steam’s U.S. page shows 28 October, while S-GAME’s website and our release calendar use 29 October.

The U.S. Steam store lists Standard at $59.99 and Digital Deluxe at $69.99. Preordering either edition grants early access to the Treasure Basin accessory, which increases Remnant Dust drops by 10%, and the Legacy outfit. Both items are also obtainable through in-game progression.

Digital Deluxe adds the Wulin Legend and Blood-Steel Form outfits, a digital artbook and a digital soundtrack. The Steam listing also confirms Denuvo DRM.
