Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will premiere on Netflix on October 20, 2026. CD PROJEKT RED confirmed the date alongside a new trailer, replacing the broader fall 2026 window attached to the anime earlier this summer.
The second Edgerunners series is a standalone 10-episode story made by CD PROJEKT RED and Studio TRIGGER. It stays in Night City but does not continue David Martinez’s story, instead following four new characters whose lives collide around revenge, survival and the city’s usual appetite for violence.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 premieres on October 20
CD PROJEKT RED announced the October 20 date on August 21 and says the series will stream exclusively on Netflix. The announcement confirms the premiere date and 10-episode format, but it does not spell out whether Netflix will release every episode at once or use another schedule.
That removes the main timing question left by the June trailer, which had only placed the anime in fall 2026. October 20 is now the confirmed premiere date.
Weak, D, Roman and Talia lead the new Night City story
The official character profiles put names and backgrounds to the new crew. Weak, once known as King, is a veteran edgerunner living without chrome and trying to find a purpose after his best years have passed. D is a Snake Nation netrunner hunting the person responsible for wiping out his clan, a revenge trail that pulls him toward corporate secrets.
Roman Carax is a young cinephile who documents other people’s lives with a camera in a city that has largely moved on to braindance. Talia comes from a corporate background but has been shaped by Maelstrom’s violent, chrome-heavy culture. CD PROJEKT RED says the four stories become intertwined as the series moves through Night City.
The English-language cast includes Clancy Brown as Weak, Nazeeh Tarsha as D, Valeria Rodriguez as Roman and Kimoy Lee as Talia. The official character site lists Kentaro Tone, Koki Uchiyama, Momoka Terasawa and Akari Kito as their Japanese voices respectively.
Studio TRIGGER returns with Kai Ikarashi directing
Studio TRIGGER is again working with CD PROJEKT RED on the anime. Kai Ikarashi, who worked on the original Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and SSSS.Gridman, is directing. Kanno Ichigo is lead character designer, while Bartosz Sztybor returns as showrunner, story writer and producer.
Masahiko Otsuka is responsible for the screenplay adaptation. That keeps several of the original production leads in place while Ikarashi takes over as director, but the story itself remains separate from the first season.
The October date is now tracked in the GTR release calendar
The October 20 premiere was previously listed in GTR’s release calendar. CD PROJEKT RED continues to describe it as a standalone 10-episode series centered on a new cast, with revenge and redemption at the heart of the story.
Netflix released all ten episodes together on 20 October 2026.
