Monster Hunter Wilds Gets Permanent Price Cut and New Gold Edition

Monster Hunter Wilds receives a permanent price reduction on August 4, alongside a new Gold Edition and reorganized cosmetic DLC bundles.

Monster Hunter Wilds will receive a permanent price reduction on August 4, 2026, as Capcom reorganizes the game’s paid editions and cosmetic DLC packages. The change will remove several launch-era products from sale and introduce a new Gold Edition containing the base game and a consolidated collection of cosmetic content.

Capcom has not announced the exact reduced price in every region. Updated prices and full product details will appear on the relevant storefronts when the revised lineup becomes available, so players should not rely on unofficial percentage estimates or converted prices before August 4.

What changes for Monster Hunter Wilds on August 4

The new product structure takes effect on August 4 at 00:00 UTC. Capcom will discontinue three existing purchasing options:

  • Monster Hunter Wilds Deluxe Edition
  • Monster Hunter Wilds Premium Deluxe Edition
  • Monster Hunter Wilds Cosmetic DLC Pass

The base game will remain available and will receive a permanent MSRP reduction on the same date. This is a lasting adjustment to the recommended price rather than a temporary sale, although Capcom has not yet published the replacement MSRP for every market.

For new buyers, August 4 will therefore be the important comparison point. Players will be able to choose between the less expensive standalone game and the new Gold Edition instead of navigating the outgoing Deluxe and Premium Deluxe options.

The new Gold Edition combines the base game and cosmetic collection

The main replacement product is the Monster Hunter Wilds Gold Edition. It includes the full game together with the new Cosmetic DLC Collection.

The Cosmetic DLC Collection is intended for players who already own the base game but want a consolidated package of post-launch cosmetics. Capcom says it contains ten DLC packs:

  • Cosmetic DLC Packs 1 through 4
  • Festival of Accord: Blossomdance DLC Pack
  • Festival of Accord: Flamefete DLC Pack
  • Festival of Accord: Dreamspell DLC Pack
  • Festival of Accord: Lumenhymn DLC Pack
  • The Deluxe Pack
  • The new Extras Cosmetic DLC Pack

The separate Extras Cosmetic DLC Pack collects selected paid cosmetics that were previously sold only as individual products. Premium bonuses from the outgoing Premium Deluxe Edition and Cosmetic DLC Pass will also be included in the new lineup.

The revised structure should make the store easier to understand, but existing players will still need to compare the collection with content already attached to their accounts. Someone who purchased several packs separately may already own part of the new bundle.

Existing owners will keep their purchased content

Players who already own one of the discontinued editions or the Cosmetic DLC Pass will retain access after August 4. Capcom is removing those products from future sale rather than revoking licenses or taking purchased content away from current owners.

The individual DLC packs and items included in the outgoing products will also remain available separately. Existing players will not need to buy the Gold Edition or Cosmetic DLC Collection simply to continue using cosmetics they already purchased.

This distinction is important because the word “discontinued” can suggest that content is being removed entirely. In this case, the change mainly affects how the game and its cosmetic DLC are packaged for future customers.

Should new players wait for the permanent price cut?

For most people who do not already own the game, waiting until August 4 is the more practical option. The base version will have a lower permanent MSRP, and the revised storefront will make it possible to compare the standalone game directly with the new Gold Edition.

Existing owners have less reason to make an immediate purchase. Players interested in only one or two cosmetics can continue buying individual items, while those missing most of the available content may find the Cosmetic DLC Collection more convenient.

The final value of each option will depend on regional pricing. Until Capcom publishes the updated store listings, it is not possible to determine whether the Gold Edition or Cosmetic DLC Collection will be cheaper than purchasing the included content separately.

What is confirmed is that Monster Hunter Wilds will become permanently less expensive on August 4, while its original Deluxe products are replaced with a simpler lineup built around the base game, Gold Edition, and consolidated cosmetic packs.
