Gravity, Daweon Game Media Lab, and Waycoder have announced Ragnarok Console Project announced for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC via Steam. The new RPG is based on the long-running Ragnarok franchise and is currently planned for release in the first half of 2027.
A new entry in the Ragnarok universe
The project takes place in a familiar but reimagined version of Ragnarok’s world, with a story built around a collapsing reality and the secrets hidden inside it. Rather than leaning on straightforward hero-vs-villain storytelling, the game is being framed around choices, responsibility, and the consequences that follow.
Ragnarok itself began with Ragnarok Online, the massively multiplayer online RPG that helped define the series for a large global audience. This new release looks to carry that legacy into a console and PC space with a fresh RPG approach.
What the game is promising
The Steam description points to a world in crisis, with players starting from a moment where something important has already gone missing and the mission has only just begun. The setup suggests a more narrative-driven adventure than a traditional online spin-off.
- A story centered on decisions and their consequences
- Settings that include deserts, ruins, research facilities, and dimensional rift zones
- Party members and classes such as Knights, Mages, Priests, and Hunters
- Dimensional distortions tied to the Heart of Ymir
