Diablo 2 Resurrected Season 14 is now live, and Blizzard’s latest patch does more than just flip the ladder reset switch. The update brings back WASD movement support, polishes controller play, and makes a broad set of balance changes aimed mostly at the new Warlock class introduced with Reign of the Warlock.
After PTR testing, Blizzard has refined a patch that touches combat balance, Terror Zones, and a few long-standing systems. Some of the biggest changes hit Warlock skills directly, while other tweaks are meant to keep loot hunting and progression feeling more in line with the rest of Diablo 2 Resurrected.
WASD support returns, along with controller fixes
One of the headline additions in Season 14 is the return of bindable keyboard movement keys. Blizzard previously tested WASD controls in Diablo 2 Resurrected in 2024, but this time the feature is back as a supported option for players who prefer movement on the keyboard over click-to-move.
Controller players are getting some attention as well. Blizzard has corrected issues tied to the loot filter and stash behavior while using a pad, which should make the game feel a little smoother on non-mouse input.
Warlock balance changes lead the patch
With a brand-new class in the mix, it makes sense that the Warlock gets the heaviest tuning pass in the update. Blizzard has adjusted all three of the class’s specializations, with a mix of nerfs, bug fixes, and a few quality-of-life changes.
- Warlocks can only equip a two-hand weapon in one hand if the other hand is holding a grimoire.
- Health potion effectiveness has been raised from 100% to 150%.
- Several Chaos tree skills, including Ring of Fire, Flame Wave, Miasma Bolt, and Abyss, have been scaled back.
- Miasma Chains now apply next-hit delay separately to each chain.
- Echoing Strike in the Eldritch tree has more base damage, but its bonuses now work additively instead of multiplicatively.
- Eldritch Blast life and mana steal is now fixed at 5%.
The Demonic Binding tree has also been heavily reworked. Bind Demon now has stricter requirements for champion, unique, and super unique monsters, along with a lower overall binding chance and a cap on demon health by type. Blizzard has also added an audio cue to help players tell when a target cannot be bound.
Terror Zones and endgame monsters get adjusted
Beyond the Warlock, Blizzard has made changes to Terror Zones and late-game enemy behavior. Heralds should now appear more evenly across tiers, which should make the loot chase feel less uneven. At the same time, the chance of monsters dropping excessive amounts of gear has been reduced.
Colossal Ancients have also been tuned so they present a more consistent challenge across different character builds. That should matter most for players pushing deeper into the endgame or chasing ladder progress with less forgiving setups.
Season 14 ladder is underway
Diablo 2 Resurrected Ladder Season 14 is live now, so the race to level 99 has started again. As usual, characters from the previous season have been moved off the ladder, and their shared stash items are now sitting in a withdraw-only tab.
That tab will remain available until Season 15 begins, so players will want to move anything they plan to keep before it disappears.
