Crimson Desert’s latest update keeps adding odd little systems that fit the game’s anything-goes approach. This patch brings in a baby wyvern pet, the ability to build a pond and stock it with fish, a new tool equipment slot, and a few combat and quality-of-life tweaks that should make day-to-day play a little smoother.

A baby wyvern joins the roster

The headline addition is a baby wyvern pet. Pearl Abyss says these creatures will not stay small forever: in a future update, players will be able to raise them into registered mounts. For now, they are pets rather than rideable companions.

Wild wyverns can also be used as temporary mounts once subdued, which gives players another option if they want to take to the air before the full pet-to-mount progression arrives.

Fishing gets a home base

The update also adds a pond-building option at Howling Hill and Pailune Camp. Players can place fish they have caught into the pond, and adding multiple fish of the same species will let them reproduce at a rate that varies by species.

There is one limitation built in: fish can die if the pond becomes overcrowded. Legendary fish are exempt from that risk, so players can display those without worrying about losing them.

  • Build a pond at Howling Hill or Pailune Camp
  • Release caught fish into it
  • Match fish of the same species to encourage breeding
  • Legendary fish can be kept safely in the pond

Tool slots, weapons, and a quieter outlaw experience

Another practical change is the addition of a dedicated tool slot. Items that previously occupied the secondary weapon slot, including the logging axe, shovel, and scythe, now go there instead.

Kliff can also use muskets and shotguns in this update, which expands his combat options. And for anyone tired of listening to tied-up outlaws complain, there is now an option to mute them.

What players should know

This is a fairly small patch compared with some of Crimson Desert’s bigger updates, but it continues the game’s pattern of adding unusual systems alongside straightforward usability fixes. The update notes include more changes, tweaks, and bug fixes beyond the highlights above.

For players, the main takeaway is simple: the world is getting a little more interactive, a little more flexible, and a little stranger in the process.
