Forza Horizon 6 is off to a strong start, with new estimates suggesting the racing game is closing in on 5 million units sold only days after launch. The latest numbers also point to a surprisingly even split between Steam and Xbox-side revenue, while Game Pass activity has been substantial in the opening week.
Launch-week momentum
Forza Horizon 6 launched on PC and Xbox Series consoles on May 19, and its player numbers on Steam have stayed high through the first week. The game has reportedly settled at around 280,000 peak concurrent players each day during that period, which suggests the launch interest has not dropped off quickly.
That level of activity lines up with the sales estimate from Alinea Analytics, which pegs the game at 4.9 million units sold so far and up to $325 million in revenue.
What the estimates say
One of the more notable figures in the report is the performance of the premium edition. Alinea estimates that 1.7 million players bought the $120 Advanced Access version. The firm also says 42% of those copies were purchased by Xbox gaming players, a category that includes PC, console, and cloud users.
- Estimated sales: 4.9 million units
- Estimated revenue: up to $325 million
- Advanced Access purchases: 1.7 million
- Xbox gaming share of Advanced Access copies: 42%
- Game Pass players in launch week: over 3 million
Steam and Xbox split nearly evenly
Alinea’s report also suggests that the game’s revenue is being divided almost equally between Steam and Xbox. Steam is estimated to account for 49% of revenue, while Xbox is at 51%.
For Microsoft, that balance is notable because it points to a launch where PC and Xbox audiences both contributed heavily rather than one platform dominating the result.
China appears to be a meaningful market
The report also highlights China as a strong part of the game’s PC audience. According to the estimate, China made up 13% of Forza Horizon 6’s Steam players.
That is significant because it suggests the series already has a solid foothold there, regardless of any broader talk about Xbox gaming expanding its presence in the region.
What remains unclear
These figures are estimates from Alinea Analytics, not official sales data from Microsoft. The report does not break down full regional sales, and it does not provide a platform-by-platform unit count beyond the revenue split.
Even so, the early numbers point to a very strong launch for Forza Horizon 6 across PC, Xbox, and Game Pass.
